Wind advisory in effect on Sunday, with gusts near 45 mph forecasted

<p><p>The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of the day Sunday in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.</p></p><p><p>The advisory is in effect through 7 p.m. Gusts out of the southwest as high as 45 mph are expected in Washington. </p></p><p><p>High winds could damage trees and power lines, the National Weather Service warned. </p></p><p><p>Inland Power and Light reported widespread outages in northwest Spokane County, north of Airway Heights. The utility reported more than 3,000 members without power as of 1:30 p.m., but the outage had been most repaired by 3 p.m. </p></p><p><p>Avista Corp. reported outages affecting more than 3,400 customers as of 3:30 p.m. Sunday, including an outage reported near Wellpinit that affected 480 customers. Several outages affecting more than 2,500 customers were reported Sunday afternoon in Kellogg. Kootenai Electric Cooperative reported outages affecting just 10 members north of Athol. Northern Lights reported 131 members without power in North Idaho. </p></p><p><p>Temperatures should reach 60 degrees Sunday with the warm southerly winds, the Weather Service predicted. </p></p><p><p>Even stronger winds are forecasted late Monday. </p></p>
