Traffic backed up after fatal crash on I-90 in Liberty Lake

<p><p>One person is dead after a vehicle-versus-motorcycle collision around 11:30 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 90 in Liberty Lake, and traffic is backed up as authorities investigate.</p></p><p><p>Washington State Patrol said in an email that the crash was still blocking both eastbound lanes as of about 1 p.m., but enough emergency vehicles cleared to allow eastbound traffic to get by on the right shoulder through the scene. </p></p><p><p>Extensive traffic backups in the area will continue while the scene is investigated, troopers said. Eastbound traffic is backed up to Sullivan Road, and westbound traffic is backed up well across the Idaho state line, the email said.</p></p><p><p>The original WSP press memo said both eastbound lanes were blocked while a Life Flight helicopter transported the critically injured motorcyclist to a hospital.</p></p><p><p>It wasn’t immediately clear whether the motorcyclist was the person who died. </p></p>
